Description
CHIVAS REGAL ALEXANDER MCQUEEN 18Y 70CL
Chivas Regal introduced its first blend in 1909, quickly capturing a significant market in the US. Although Prohibition briefly disrupted its success, it also paved the way for Canadian distillers, Seagram, to enter the Scotch market.
In 1949, Seagram seized the opportunity and acquired Chivas Brothers. This acquisition not only added Strathisla to its portfolio but also led to the establishment of three additional distilleries. Over the years, Seagram continued to expand its influence by acquiring Campbell Distillers and The Glenlivet Distillers. Consequently, Seagram became one of Scotland’s largest whisky companies.
Nevertheless, the Seagram empire faced collapse in the early 2000s. As a result, Pernod-Ricard acquired Chivas Brothers, alongside Allied Domecq, which included the Ballantine’s brand. This strategic acquisition allowed Pernod-Ricard to strengthen its position in the global whisky market.
Today, Chivas produces two of the top three selling blends globally. Furthermore, its extensive distillery portfolio, with Glenlivet as its flagship brand, rivals only Diageo’s in scale and prestige.
The Chivas Regal 18-Year-Old Gold Signature, a well-aged blend, stands out with its limited-edition packaging designed by the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen. Importantly, only 1500 bottles of this exclusive release exist.
