Description
Balvenie Burnhead Wood 19Y 70CL is the latest in a series based on know-how and experimentation (Balvenie Stories), with for the first time at The Balvenie, a whisky made only from ingredients all harvested in Dufftown, the distillery’s birthplace: barley grown and malted on site, water from the spring and heather from the hills surrounding the distillery.
It is in the making of the product that the special feature lies, the barley is dried using heather as fuel which gives it a delicate fragrant and herbal touch.
TASTING NOTES:
Nose : Lively and vibrant, with notes of figs and geranium oil balanced with herbs and green wood.
Palate : Honey, cereal and candied fruit flavours with a touch of lemon and spice. The sweetness then gives way to woody flavours.
Overall : Persistent, woody, dried flowers
