Sandy Hyslop, the master blender, has been carefully tending to these unique casks and waiting for the ideal time to release the desired character into this extraordinary blend.
The 24 Year Old Cognac Cask Finish, with its rich golden copper color and minimum 24-year age, emits aromas of toasted oak and dark cherries. Rich caramelized figs, peaches in syrup, lemon curd, and sweet notes of marzipan come next. The whisky takes on a fruitier quality, possibly as a result of the usage of Cognac casks. When you taste it, your palate is overwhelmed with flavors of thick, creamy caramel, warm cinnamon, and summer berry compote. A faint hint of spice complements a long, rich aftertaste.
