JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL PITTYVAICH 70CL

$700

JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL PITTYVAICH 70CL is the fourth in the series of special releases crafted using irreplaceable ‘ghost’ whiskies from a small number of iconic distilleries that closed many years ago.
This Limited Edition Johnnie Walker Blue Label contains rare old whiskies from the Pittyvaich Distillery, which fell silent in 2002. Other ‘ghost’ whiskies from the distilleries of Port Dundas and Carsebridge are balanced with very rare single malts from a quartet of Speyside distilleries, alongside rare expressions from Royal Lochnagar.

Description

JOHNNIE WALKER BLUE LABEL PITTYVAICH 70CL Another edition in Johnnie Walker’s Blue Label Ghost & Rare series, which shines a light on whiskies from closed distilleries. For example, this blended Scotch whisky features a core of single malts from the Pittyvaich Distillery, which was only open from 1974 to 1993. An intriguing expression, one that doesn’t let us forget the name of that short-lived but impressive distillery.
Tasting Notes:
Nose Waxy notes with dried fruit, apricots and raisins, dark chocolate, marzipan, orange blossom, stone fruit, and citrus.
Palate Really peppery and spicy, black and Szechuan pepper, vanilla, toffee, and honey. Unctuous and layered, there are some beautifully aged grain whiskies in here. Plus stone and orchard fruit.
Finish Finish is all sweetness, fudge with peaches and cream.
