Description
Glendronach 18Y Allardice 70CL was matured completely in Oloroso sherry casks, and was originally released in 2009 following the distillery changing hands back in 2008. An exceptional fruity sherried single malt.
Nose: California raisins, caramelized brown sugar, stewed prunes, dusty pantry, stone fruits, port
Palate: Dark stone fruits, red plums, burnt sugars from an iron pan, lightly malted cereal grain
Finish: Complex but quick, not real lingering ethanol burn, surprisingly little tannins for how long the distillate was in the wood.
