BELL’S HER MAJESTY’S 60TH BIRTHDAY 75CL

United Distillers plc shares the story of Bell’s Decanters. The concept of a bell-shaped decanter was conceived in the 1920s. Initially crafted from blue glass in a traditional shape.

Subsequently, it was made from porcelain, resembling a bell. By the late 1940s, Carvendale’s, a small firm in Edinburgh’s Thistle Street. Handmade each decanter from self-colored pottery, hand-lettered in gold. After that, equipped with a clapper.

Then, Production later shifted to Royal Doulton in the early 1950s. Followed by Spode in 1960 and Wade in 1966.

Arthur Bell created Bell’s blended whisky in Perth in 1851. Then, establishing a small shop trading in whisky and tea.

Since then, Bell’s has gained worldwide popularity with the slogan “Afore ye go.”

The blend includes malt from the Blair Athol distillery, with Pittyvaich included from 1974 to 1993.

Arthur Bell & Sons’ history dates back to the mid-19th century. With significant expansion in the 1930s by acquiring Blair Athol and Dufftown distilleries from P. Mackenzie & Co in 1932. And Inchgower from Moray Town Council four years later.

The company focused primarily on the domestic market. Capturing 35% by the 1970s. With Bell’s Extra Special emerging as Scotland’s best-selling brand. Guinness acquired the firm in 1985, subsequently acquiring DCL in 1986. Today, Diageo continues to produce Bell’s blends.
