Description
J&B 20Y Old Decanter 75CL : A discontinued 20 year old J&B in a very eye catching limited edition fine bone china decanter made by Royal Doulton, according to the bottom stamp produced sometime around 1930th.
A longstanding name in the world of blended whisky, J&B began as a Wine & Spirits merchants in London’s Pall Mall in 1749. The operation was originally set up by Italian immigrant Giacomo Justerini and business partner George Johnson. Ever since 1761 they have been a supplier to each British monarch since the coronation of King George III in 1761. The company was bought and renamed as Justerini & Brooks by Alfred Brooks in 1831. Brooks began investing heavily in creating a signature blend which would become known as J&B Rare. The blend battled heavily with rival Cutty Sark for dominance in the United States and after the brief pause due to prohibition, J&B became a massive hit with the Americans whilst enjoying sales of one million cases per year. The brand was purchased by International Distillers & Vintners (eventually Diageo) in 1962 and is still included in the company’s portfolio today.
