Description

BELL’S CHRISTMAS 2007 8Y 70CL:

The 2007 decanter tells the tale of Sir Miles Partridge, who famously defeated King Henry VIII in poker dice, claiming the King’s renowned Clochier ‘The Jesus Bells’ from Saint Paul’s Cathedral.

Partridge then melted down the bells and sold them.

Authorities arrested him in 1551, convicted him of treason, and hanged him on the 26th of February 1552.

The 2007 decanter also refers to the five Queens of King Henry VIII, all of whom either died or faced execution.

His sixth wife, Catherine Parr, outlived him as Queen but passed away herself in 1547.
