Description

BELL’S CHRISTMAS 2005 8Y 70CL

The whisky blends five malt and grain whiskies sourced from five different distilleries. Arthur Bell & Sons’ Blair Athol distillery, located in Pitlochry, Perthshire at the gateway to the Scottish Highlands, is one of these. The other distilleries are Inchgower and Dufftown in Speyside, Glenkinchie in the Lowlands, and Caol Ila in Islay.

The 2005 decanter narrates the story of the old bell from Saint Etienne church in Sens, Burgundy. King Clotaire II of France removed the bell and transported it to Paris. During its exile in Paris, the bell, known for its melodious tone, fell silent. The apprehensive king, believing in divine intervention, returned the bell to its rightful home. There, it resumed its ringing, echoing its previous ‘Silent Protest.’
