Bell’s Celebrating Her Majesty 75th Year 70CL : Glenkinchie distillery, located near the village of Pencaitland, in the glen of the Kinchie burn/East Lothian, was established in 1837 by local farmers, John and George Rate and is one of six distilleries in the Lowland region. The surrounding Lammermuir hills are a local source of fresh water. The distillery was taken over by United Distillers in 1989 and is now part of the Diageo portfolio. The 75 years decanter, released in 2001 celebrates HM Queen Elizabeth’s II 75th Birthday, the queen was born on the 21st April 1926 and acceded to the throne in 1952 after her father, George VI died in 6th February 1952. Queen Elizabeth II married Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh in 1947.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Quite soft and gentle. Malted barley and hints of cut herbs and a fresh floral note. Cereal and grist with a little honey.
Palate: Quite smooth, medium body. Barley and cereals with nut oils, hints of wood and spice.
Finish: Short with notes of fruitcake and smoke.
