This exceptional release follows the success of Batch 1 and brings another outstanding whisky to the market. Walker created this expression using whisky from five carefully selected Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The whisky delivers rich, decadent flavors and offers layers of dried fruit, milk chocolate, and bold fruit. GlenAllachie released only 1,600 bottles of this rare whisky, making it a highly sought-after collector’s item.
Tasting Notes
Firstly, on the nose, GlenAllachie 21-Year-Old Batch 2 introduces lashings of cocoa, heather honey, and orange peel. The aromas then reveal notes of cinnamon, mocha, and fruitcake, creating a deep and complex scent profile. Then, on the palate, the whisky presents a fusion of fruitcake, treacle, and heather honey. Layers of orange peel, stewed fruits, and dark chocolate follow, each adding a new dimension. Finally, the finish brings a touch of ginger and orange zest, providing a clean and refreshing end to the experience.
Since taking over GlenAllachie in 2017, Billy Walker has worked his magic, creating some of the most award-winning and delightful whiskies in the industry. Since 2021, GlenAllachie has released annual batches, with Batch 2 standing out as a particularly impressive expression. Bottled at a cask strength of 51.1% ABV, this whisky contains no added color and undergoes no chill filtration, preserving its natural character.
GlenAllachie 21-Year-Old Batch 2 is a blend of five hand-picked Pedro Ximénez puncheons and hogsheads. These casks impart luxurious tones to the whisky, including notes of cocoa, heather honey, orange, fruitcake, dark chocolate, and cinnamon.
