Description
THE DALMORE LUMINARY N2 16Y 2024 EDITION 70CL
It marks the second release in a groundbreaking partnership with the V&A Dundee. Basically, this whisky brings together the artistry of whisky making and architectural design, thanks to the involvement of Melodie Leung, associate director at Zaha Hadid Architects. Also, her expertise contributed to the creation of a swirling sculptural presentation case for The Dalmore Luminary – The Rare – 2024 Edition.
The packaging design mirrors the Rare’s form, prominently featuring copper tones that echo the whisky’s own rich character. This edition intrigues fans with its inclusion of a very small amount of exceptionally rare peated Dalmore spirit.
Initially, the whisky matured in American white oak bourbon casks before undergoing a secondary maturation in Graham’s Tawny Port pipes and Apostoles sherry casks. Bottled at 48.6% ABV, it offers natural color and remains non-chill filtered.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Initially, experience a savory earthiness, antique furniture, and old leather. Follow these with Jaffa Cake, burnt toast, red grapes, and blackberry. Fig rolls and a touch of camphor complete the aromatic profile.
Palate: On the palate, savor caramel sauce, oak spice, and black tea. Marmalade, dates, and chocolate raspberry follow, transitioning to green Fruit Pastilles, macadamia nuts, and black cherry. Liquorice and an oaky weight reminiscent of a big Cab Franc round out the taste.
Finish: Finally, enjoy a finish of Dundee cake, blackberry, and roasted chestnut.
