These whiskies honor the Clan Mackenzie while supporting the restoration of their ancestral home, Castle Leod.
Dalmore Mackenzie:
This whisky, distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2010, matures for 11 years in a bourbon hogshead. Following that, it finishes for 6 years in port pipes, resulting in a robust flavor profile at 46%.
Dalmore Castle Leod:
This expression, distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2011, matures in American white oak and Spanish sherry wood. Additionally, it finishes in Bordeaux casks, providing a rich character, also at 46%.
Dalmore Cromartie:
This whisky, distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2012, matures in American white oak before transferring to Oloroso sherry casks from Gonzalez Byass. Consequently, it presents a distinct profile at 45%.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Enjoy floral aromas accompanied by thick dried fruit notes, including raisins, dates, and candied peels.
Palate: Savor a thick texture that matches the nose. Moreover, dried fruit dominates the experience, while figs, sweet marmalade, chocolate, and leather add complexity, finished with a jolt of pepper.
Finish: Experience the richness of dark chocolate, with at least 80 percent cocoa solids. Ultimately, it delivers a balanced bitterness over marmalade caramel, leaving a memorable impression.
