MACALLAN EDITION 4 70CL : The fourth release in the Edition Series, a range of whiskies that focuses on The Macallan’s commitment to wood, the Edition No. 4 was aged in a combination of seven different cask types. These include European/American Oak refill butts, European/American Oak refill hogsheads, American Oak first fill Vasyma hogsheads, European Oak first fill Diego Martin Rosado butts, European Oak first fill Jose Y Miguel Martin butts, European Oak first fill Tevasa butts/puncheons and European Oak first fill Tevasa hogsheads.
Tasting Notes:
Nose Rich nutmeg, floral honey and orange zest are present initially, before a little red berry note and toasted oak emerge.
Palate Toffee apples, sweet oak and clove lead, with a helping of vanilla and Seville marmalade underneath.
Finish The finish lasts for an age and carries a smattering of wood spice.
