Description

GLENFIDDICH 40Y 70CL

Glenfiddich 40-Year-Old showcases the pinnacle of whisky craftsmanship. Basically, this exemplary single malt comes fully owned by William Grant & Sons, a fifth-generation Scottish family distiller. Each bottle represents a legacy of excellence.

Moreover, the whisky undergoes meticulous selection. The Malt Master handpicks some of the oldest casks in the world. He marries 40-year-old vatting’s, creating a peerless whisky. Furthermore, each release offers infinite depth with layers of aroma and flavor. The result stands unrivaled among rare whiskies of this age.

Tasting Notes

Firstly, Glenfiddich 40 captivates with its dark mahogany color.

Secondly, on the nose, it reveals beautifully rich notes. Dried fruits, dark chocolate, and roasted coffee intermingle with ripe black cherries. Gentle wood smoke, polished leather, and cloves add complexity.

Then, the palate presents a silky-smooth experience. Intense dried fruit flavors lead to rich fruitcake, dates, and raisins. Stewed apples enhance the profile. Over time, slightly dry oak notes emerge. Hints of bitter chocolate and faint peat round out the taste.

Finally, the finish remains incredibly long-lasting and complex. It leaves a truly memorable impression. Each bottle of Glenfiddich 40 comes individually numbered and wrapped in hand-stitched calf leather. A leather-bound book accompanies it, detailing its 40-year story. This book includes a certification hand-signed by the longest-serving craftsmen.

Less than 1,000 bottles release to the world each year. Experts eagerly anticipate each batch. Glenfiddich 40-Year-Old has earned prestigious accolades. It won gold medals at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in 2012 and the International Spirits Challenge in 2013.

The whisky matures in the finest Ozark Mountain American oak and high-quality European oak from Spain and Portugal. The interaction between bourbon and sherry allows the oak to breathe and absorb flavors. Glenfiddich also employs Douglas Fir for fermentation. This tradition enhances the whisky’s integrity. Glenfiddich 40-Year-Old truly exemplifies harmony and richness in every sip.
