Description
CHIVAS REGAL PRINCE OF WHISKIES 12Y 75CL
Chivas Regal, launched by Chivas Brothers in 1909, quickly established itself as a premium brand in the US. Prohibition temporarily hindered its success, but it allowed Canadian distillers Seagram to enter the Scotch market by acquiring Chivas Brothers in 1949.
Seagram also acquired Strathisla and built three more distilleries. Over time, Seagram expanded its portfolio with Campbell Distillers and The Glenlivet Distillers. Making it one of Scotland’s largest whisky companies.
After Seagram’s collapse in the early 2000s. Pernod Ricard acquired Chivas Brothers, along with Allied Domecq and its Ballantine’s brand.
Today, Chivas Regal produces two of the top three selling blends worldwide: with Glenlivet as its flagship brand, rivaling only Diageo in distillery portfolio size.
The 12-year-old expression of Chivas Regal, originally created for Seagram by Charles H. Julian, comes in a lead crystal decanter.
