Founded by the Chivas brothers in the early 1800s, the Regal brand quickly gained acclaim among European gentry. With the new grain whisky rules allowing for aged blending and stylistic variation, these innovators seized the opportunity to excel in blending.
Master Blender Colin Scott created Chivas Regal 18 Years in 1997. This mature whisky features Strathisla as its core component. Chivas has owned Strathisla since the 1950s, and it serves as an excellent partner for the prominent blenders.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich, indulgent and multi-layered aromas with hints of dried fruits, buttery toffee and dark chocolate.
Palate: A velvety, dark chocolate palate yields to elegant floral notes and a wisp of sweet, mellow smokiness.
Finish: Extremely warm, long finish.
