Description
CHIVAS BROTHERS OLDEST UNIQUE MAGNUM 1.5L
Chivas Brothers launched the first Chivas Regal blend in 1909. Quickly establishing a premium brand with a strong market presence in the US.
Prohibition briefly disrupted its success ten years later but allowed Canadian distillers Seagram to expand into the Scotch market.
Seagram acquired Chivas Brothers in 1949. Adding Strathisla to its portfolio and building three additional distilleries. Over time, Seagram also acquired Campbell Distillers and The Glenlivet Distillers. Positioning itself as one of Scotland’s largest whisky companies.
In the early 2000s, Seagram’s empire collapsed, and Pernod-Ricard acquired Chivas Brothers, along with Allied Domecq, which included the Ballantine’s brand.
Today, Chivas produces two of the top three selling blends globally. Its distillery portfolio, with Glenlivet as its flagship brand, rivals only Diageo’s in scale.
