The Arran The Westie Single Malt Scotch Whiskey is the third edition of the limited “”Icons of Arran”” series.
The whiskey spent its 12 years of barrel aging in 22 Oloroso Sherry Hogsheads from 1998 to 2011.
The distillery bottled it at an alcohol content of 46.0 percent by volume.
As a natural whiskey, it comes uncolored and unfiltered. In total there are just 6,000 bottles of this rarity available to buy.
Tasting Notes:
Nosing: The Arran whiskey has a fruity nose. It brings notes of apricot and citrus. Sherry and dried fruits are present.
Tasting: The Arran The Westie is sweet and fruity on the tongue. It tastes of plums, grapes and cherries. Vanilla and caramel come through. Oak wood and nutmeg introduce the spicy finish.
Finish: The whiskey has a long-lasting finish. It leaves behind dried fruits and oak.
