Glenfiddich Clan Montgomerie Single Malt Scotch Whisky offers a unique glimpse into whisky history. This release from the 1990s features the iconic triangular bottle, designed in 1956. Basically, Glenfiddich first used this design for its brand in 1961.
Interestingly, Glenfiddich held the title of the world’s first single malt brand. Moreover, for many years, they labeled their flagship product as “Pure Malt” until 2000. This choice highlights their commitment to tradition.
Originally, these whiskies were presented in Barringer Wallis & Manners tins. Furthermore, each tin depicted one of eleven different Highland clans, adding a collectible element. The distillery, built by William Grant in 1886, distilled its first spirit on Christmas Day the following year. Today, Glenfiddich remains part of the family-owned William Grant & Sons.
