Description

DIMPLE 1990 YEAR OF THE HORSE 75CL (Without Box)

Dimple Haig, or Dimple Pinch, launched in 1893 during a booming demand for blended Scotch whisky. The Haig family and their network of cousins dominated the Lowland whisky industry and were well-positioned to take advantage of the growth.

John Haig’s sons, Alicius and Hugh Vietch, founded Haig & Haig in 1888 as an export business. They managed whisky sales in the US. Their efforts before Prohibition helped Dimple gain popularity in America.

By 1939, the Dimple and Gold Label brands made Haig the top-selling Scotch in the UK. Dimple Pinch had also regained its pre-Prohibition sales in the US.

Although the brand vanished in the UK until the arrival of Haig Club, Dimple still sold over a million cases by the millennium. Its key markets included South Korea, Germany, Greece, and the US.
